PERE CAMPISTOL AGUSTI

Pere Campistol Agustí is the CEO and founder of The Surf Pentagon. He completed his dental degree in Spain and worked as a general dentist in the Canary Islands for three years. Until he made one of the toughest calls of his life.... He decided to abandon his career and move to Australia to follow his passion of researching and developing training programs, to enhance performance and mitigate the risk of surf injuries.
While in Australia, Pere graduated as an Exercise Scientist at Griffith University and became a level 1 Surfing Australia Coach. He spent his first years in Australia coaching beginner surfers and proceeded to obtain his certificated III & IV in Fitness, which allowed him to start implementing dry-land training with his surfers. His dry-land training interests spin around science-informed strength & conditioning and full range mobility conditioning. He also has a strong interest in breathing and its link with performance and health. He performed a one-year mentorship at Holistic Pro Health and Performance, is an EXOS Fitness Specialist, Functional Range Conditioning, Kinstrech, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation and Surf Survival Apnea instructor.

MARTIN SALINAS SUBIABRE

Martin is a Director and Master Coach at The Surf Pentagon. He holds a bachelors and masters degree in Psychology from Chile, where he gained an extensive wealth of knowledge and experience on Executive Coaching, Experiential Learning & Consulting industry. During his time in University he became certified as an ISA Surf Coach Level 1, allowing him to work and gain experience as a part-time surf coach.
He moved to Australia following the fairytales of a dreamland where waves never end, where the grass is green and the girls are pretty. A little paradise town called Byron Bay. During his time there, and after several years of lack of training and living the good (or bad) life, he started training with Pere at HPHP. This mind-opening experience transform his life for good, allowing him to align his life with his passion, values and purpose in life.  
Currently he is practicing as a Personal Trainer, Surf Coach and Sport & Performance Psychology Consultant, and his main interest are around the ancient wisdom of the agency of the breath, Mindfulness, Acceptance & Commitment approaches for performance and Flow state. He also holds a Diploma in Sport Development, Cert III & IV in Fitness, is a certified Mental Performance Coaching Professional, Mindful Sport Performance Enhancement (MSPE) Instructor, Pranayama Instructor, Surf Survival Apnea Instructor, and level 1 Surfing Australia Coach.

What are the requirements for this workshop?

Be at least 18 years old, (or 16 with parent or guardian consent), and have no medical contraindications for apnea training (provide medical certification).

Can I eat before the pool session?

Yes you can. We do encourage you to have a light meal (e.g. smoothie, muesli bar...) since digestion will affect your breath-holding performance.
